The Emancipation of Mimi: Reimagined
Mariah Carey’s critically-acclaimed album The Emancipation of Mimi (2005) lacks a visual identity that communicates its significance as a triumphant return to superstardom after a challenging period in her life.
I reimagined the album to highlight Mariah Carey's resilience, using the monarch butterfly to represent her. This campaign employs International Style's grid-based language to explore the duality between freedom and restraint, breaking through the grid to communicate the concept of emancipation.
